Virender Sehwag is known for his eccentric tweets

Virender Sehwag’s flurry of funny tweets seem to be never ending as the former Indian batsman wished his one-time captain and teammate Sourav Ganguly on his birthday. The tweet said: “HappyBirthdayDada @SGanguly99. May you keep on helping India wave our flag high, just like u waved ur shirt at Lords.”

The former Delhi Daredevils captain has an uncanny habit of sending out hilarious tweets, which seem to amuse all of his followers on Twitter. He recently wished current Indian captain MS Dhoni on his birthday, despite claims that the pair shared a frosty relationship, with Dhoni being the reason for Sehwag to be dropped from the team.

Sehwag’s tweet is in direct reference to the incident when then captain Sourav Ganguly took off his shirt in wild celebration after India’s win against England in the Natwest triangular series in 2002 at Lords. His celebration has clinched iconic status as the former Indian captain will always be remembered for it.

Fans seem to enjoy his tweets and are on a constant look out for them. He made fun of Akhtar once again when he said: “Clearly @shoaib100mph was too scared to challenge me when I was at the @starsportsindia studio #AkhtarVsLee @BrettLee_58”

The former Indian batsman is known for his honest and outspoken demeanor, as he does not fear anything. Once during the tour of Sri Lanka in 2008, Sehwag was the only Indian batsman to dominate the mystery spinner Ajantha Mendis.

In a very outspoken way, he said: “Bhaisaab, spinner ko spinner batsmen banata hein! Agar use aap ball spin hi naa karne do, aur pehli hi over me use bahar pheink do, who zindagi bhar spin nahi karenga!” [A spinner is made by batsmen. If the batsman does not allow the ball to spin and throw him out of the ground, he will not spin the ball all his life!]

Sehwag also made a very surprising statement when he was asked about Bangladesh’s chances to surprise India in Tests, he said: “When he was asked a general question about Bangladesh’s chances to surprise India, Sehwag answered, “No. They can’t beat us in Test matches. They can surprise you in ODIs, but not in Tests because they can’t take 20 Indian wickets. Bangladesh can’t. They are an ordinary side.”

We just hope that the hard-hitting batsman continues to entertain the world with his amazingly funny tweets and statements. One thing is true for sure, Sehwag’s tweets are as amazing as his batting!
