The trailer shows Sachin narrating his journey from the maidans of Shivaji Park to the biggest stadiums across the world, his rise from the small lanes of Mumbai to the towering heights of becoming a global icon of the sport.

The trailer also has snippets of his former teammates and opponents, including the likes of MS Dhoni and Wasim Akram heaping praise on the Little Master and his exploits at the international level for twenty-four years.

Directed by James Erskine, who has credited films like One Night in Turin, Battle of the Sexes, (a movie that highlights the story of the tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs) in 1973, the movie is set to release on 26th May 2017.

Most recently, Erskine directed a movie called Pantani: The Accidental Death of a Cyclist, covering the story of Italian cyclist Marco Pantani. He's also directed a cricket film, From the Ashes, which was released in 2011.

Present at the trailer launch was Sachin himself, along with Erskine, who had specially flown in from the UK for the screeing.

Answering the questions from the media, Sachin Tendulkar said, “This film has helped me relive the important moments of my life through its making! I remain a private person but realised that there is much I have not revealed or spoken about, to those who have been instrumental to my life and career, especially my fans. I hope the film will be yet another avenue for fans who have showered their love and blessings on me, to cherish the journey that we undertook together for over 24 years.”

Watch the trailer and you’ll surely get goosebumps, just like I did. Once again, the diminutive batsman, a hero to multiple generations of Indians, will come out to bat, with chants of “Sacchinnn, Sacchinnn” reverberating all around.
