Before Australia eye their revenge on India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT), a fresh bilateral series awaits them. The Pat Cummins-led side will be up against Pakistan, who are yet to play an ODI in 2024.

The first ODI at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) will be a battle of two top-quality bowling units. While the familiar trio of Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf return for Pakistan, the hosts are set to field their skipper along with Mitchell Starc and Sean Abbott.

Australia will be high on confidence following their hard-fought 3-2 ODI series win over arch-rivals England. Pakistan, meanwhile, will be buoyed by the comeback of Babar Azam under the new leadership of Mohammad Rizwan.
