With the World Cup 2019 approaching in a few days time, all the teams are busy preparing themselves for the mega cricket tournament. Teams are trying to get their combinations right before the match-day arrives and are in the final phase of selecting their playing XI.

This edition of ICC Cricket World Cup is said to be one of the most difficult and competent tournaments, because of the teams and the format. Also in recent years, the English pitches have been batting-friendly on the most number of times as the teams have scored 300-plus scores more often than not.

Therefore, the role of the bowlers in their team's success becomes even more crucial in such conditions. All the participating teams are stacked up with some good bowlers in their artillery that can do the job.

Let's take a look at the bowlers who could be the leading wicket-takers this World Cup:

#1 Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah has emerged as a superstar for India in all the three formats of the game in a very quick time. He has earned a reputation for himself in world cricket with his lethal bowling spells that can rattle any batting line-up on his given day.

The number one ranked ODI bowler has been in a very good form recently and would like to continue the same this tournament. Bumrah had a very good IPL season for the Mumbai Indians this year. He played a pivotal role in Mumbai's title triumph for the record fourth time this season. It was his match-winning bowling spells in the death overs that won Mumbai matches against the best of the oppositions.

If he continues his good form this World Cup, he could probably end this tournament as the highest wicket-taker. Bumrah has the required skills and abilities, and above all that, he has a good temperament which is imperative in crunch moments of a game. He is a wicket-taking bowler and is sure to light up this edition of the Cricket World Cup

The Afghan wizard will be grabbing the maximum eyeballs this World Cup. Rashid has been around world cricket for quite some time now and has proven time and again his ability to take wickets and win matches for his team.

Afghanistan probably has the best spin bowling attack in this tournament led by Rashid Khan. He has enough experience in him that he gained from playing T20 leagues all around the world. He has a good temperament as well and always likes challenging himself.

Though Rashid didn't have a very good IPL season this year, he is still a wicket-taking bowler for Afghanistan. Every team will be looking at Rashid Khan as a threat and would be planning ways to tackle him at this tournament.

Rashid Khan will be among the top wicket-taking bowlers in the World Cup, but him leading the table will be interesting to watch. He has the ability and there is no doubt that he will be up there among the leading wicket-takers in this year's Cricket World Cup.

#3 Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada has come a long way in his cricketing career. Just like Bumrah, Rabada has made a name for himself in all the three formats of the game and will play a vital role for South Africa's chances in this World Cup.

Rabada had a fantastic IPL season, picking up 25 wickets in 12 matches for the Delhi Capitals that helped them reach the knockouts for the first time since 2012. Rabada is going through a very good form and would be looking to dominate this year's World Cup as well.

He can bowl good opening spells and can also do the job in the death overs for his team. He has the ability to take wickets and has the confidence over his bowling variations that would come in handy in batting paradise pitches of England. Rabada would surely lead the South African pace bowling attack with the likes of the Dale Steyn and Lungi Ngidi.

If Rabada repeats his IPL 2019 heroics, he would not only help the Proteas reach the knockouts but also end the tournament as the highest wicket-taking bowler.
