Ravindra Jadeja has been a part of the Indian team for almost a decade now. The 30-year old is a regular in the Test team but has still not cemented his place in the ODI team. Jadeja is one of the best fielders in the world and hence his presence in the squad is extremely important. His batting has also improved a lot over the past few years but Indian fans cant still count on him to get the team over the line in a tight chase.

With the ball, Jadeja is economical but fails to get crucial breakthroughs in the middle overs. His tendency to dart the ball in instead of letting it spin has proved to be his downfall. The left-armer has been replaced by the wrist-spinning duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal in the side.

The Chennai Super Kings' all-rounder has performed admirably in the warm-up games and may have earned himself a chance to feature in the playing XI; if the surface is suited to his game. But this may just be the last chance that Jadeja is given as India might look for some better options in the future if he fails to justify his inclusion.
