Known as the Universe Boss, Chris Gayle is on a six-hitting spree at this stage in his career. The 39-year old veteran is coming on the back of a dominating play against England in the ODI home series, earlier this year. His 39 sixes against the Brits are the most hit by any batsman in a bilateral series.

Even in the first World Cup match against Pakistan at Trent Bridge, he broke the record for most sixes by any batsman in World Cup matches. He now has 40 maximums to his name, three more than the former South African batsman AB de Villiers.

His form with the bat is an ominous sign for any opposition in this edition. His ability to hit sixes at will makes him one of the best hitters in this tournament. He possesses power and can torment any bowling attack with sheer force behind his shots. Someone who relies more upon boundaries than running between the wickets, Gayle is one of the strongest contenders to hit most sixes in this tournament.
