#All-rounders and Wicket-keeper

Ben Stokes, Jimmy Neesham, Alex Carey

Ben Stokes
Ben Stokes

Ben Stokes demonstrated the reason he is rated so highly rated in world cricket. Stokes was absolutely brilliant for England during the entire tournament. The all-rounder scored 465 runs at a high average of 66.42 and took 7 wickets in 11 games.

Even during the time when England were struggling to win matches, Ben Stokes kept fighting. The 28-year-old played a match-winning knock in the nerve-wracking final and was adjudged the man-of-the-match.

Jimmy Neesham
Jimmy Neesham

Jimmy Neesham was another all-rounder who impressed a lot. Neesham has been around for a while but hasn't really done anything substantial for the Black Caps. However, he was a consistent performer, both with the bat and ball, in World Cup 2019. Neesham amassed 258 runs and picked up 15 wickets in 10 games.

While he chipped in with crucial wickets with the ball, he played some useful cameos in the lower-middle order. He almost won the game for New Zealand in the finals, too.

Alex Carey
Alex Carey

Alex Carey got Australia out of trouble on numerous occasions in the tournament. In most of the matches, Carey arrived at the crease with Australia in dire straits, but the wicket-keeper batsman mixed caution with aggression and got Australia back in the game.

He looked technically sound and seems to have the right temperament to excel in international cricket. Carey finished with 375 runs in 10 games at an average of 62.50.
