Although, India all-rounder Hardik Pandya failed to make a mark with the bat, he compensated for it with his performance with the ball.

Pandya was expected to propel the run rate at a crucial juncture of the match like he had done on a few earlier occasions, but fell to a great delivery from Mustafizur Rahman for a duck.

However, with the wicket of Soumya Sarkar in the 16th over of the Bangladesh innings, Hardik completed 50 ODI wickets. He also scalped the wicket of Liton Das and with the dismissal of the dangerous Shakib-Al-Hasan, Hardik pushed the Bangladeshi team on to the backfoot.

Captain Virat Kohli has been using Pandya regularly as a bowler and its paying dividends. Pandya's potent mix of short balls and pace variations proved productive on Tuesday despite him being a tad expensive. He nowhas 52 wickets in 52 ODIs.
