Slash damage is one of the major damage types that exists in Elden Ring. It is caused by sharp weapons that can easily cut through lightly armored or unarmored enemies. Weapons such as curved swords, curved greatswords, katanas, and daggers are ideally associated with slash damage.

1) Rivers of Blood (Katana)

The Rivers of Blood scales primarily with Strength, Dexterity, and Arcane and is a prominent weapon for mid-range combat. Furthermore, it is an excellent choice to inflict both slash and pierce attacks.

It causes Blood loss buildup and is reasonably viable on a pure Dex or pure Arcane build. Notably, the weapon is dropped after defeating Bloody Finger Okina. It invades near the Church of Repose, in the Eastern region of Mountaintops of the Giants.


2) Nagakiba (Katana)

Nagakiba is an exceptional katana in Elden Ring, which scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity. It is a good choice for dealing with an extra blood loss effect on top of the initial physical damage. Furthermore, it can boast various ash of wars.

Nagakiba is dropped after defeating Bloody Finger Hunter Yura to the north of Murkwater Cave or in his camp near Seaside Ruins Grace. You can also get it by completing Bloody Finger Hunter Yura's quests at the Second Church of Marika.

The Bloodhound's Fang is strong but quite broken in Elden Ring. Amongst the various slash damage weapons that exist in the game, this one has no competition.

This is because, aside from easy accessibility, the weapon scales very well and it can destroy almost everything in the game. The weapon also comes with the Bleed status effect passive, which comes in handy against every boss barring Radagon.

The stats to wield the weapon are also quite low, which makes it usable right from the very beginning.

Morgott's Cursed Sword is a great weapon for slash damage, which scales with Arcane and Dexterity, with reduced scaling in Strength. Its unique skill, Cursed-Blood Slice, allows you to dash forward and deliver a downward slice that causes an additional Blood Loss build-up effect.

To get the weapon, you must defeat Morgott first. Following that, it can be bought from Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold with the Omen King's Remembrance.

The Scavenger's Curved Sword is a curved sword capable of doing exceptional slash damage in Elden Ring. As it scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity, it is a good choice for melee players who want to perform short-reaching heavier hits.

The weapon can be found in Mt. Gelmir. It is located northwest of the First Mt. Gelmir Campsite, near a corpse and a Grafted Scion, across a stone pillar-bridge. The corpse closest to the ladder has the Scavenger's Curved Sword.
