Fortnite is still one of the biggest games in the world. 2018 was truly the year the game really smashed into mainstream attention with rapper Drake playing the game with popular streamer Ninja as well as other popular celebrities playing the game from actors to football players.

With how big Fortnite has gotten, it's become harder and harder for new rare skins to come out (since so many people play the game now) unless they are a console or device exclusive.

We'd previously taken a look at some of the most awesome looking skins on Fortnite and today it's time to take a look at some of the rarest skins in the game.

#6 Aerial Assault Trooper

The Aerial Assault Trooper was released in season 1 of Fortnite, a time when a lot fewer players played the game. On top of this, Fortnite didn't work the same way back then and reaching level 15in the Battle Pass only allowed players the opportunity to then go ahead and spend 1200 V-Bucks to buy the skin.

#5 Ghoul Trooper

The Ghoul Trooper was available in the Item Shop in Halloween 2017 during the Halloween event along with another skin on this list, the Skull Trooper. Since it was available for such a limited and because it wasn't as good looking as the Skull Trooper, not a lot of players bought this, making it one of the rarest Fortnite skins.

#4 Skull Trooper (Purple version)

The Skull Trooper came out along with the Ghoul Tropper but the only difference was that it was re-released last Halloween. However, everyone who bought it when it originally also got a purple version of the skin which makes our list of rarest Fortnite skins.

#3 Renegade Raider

Similar to the Aerial Assault Trooper, the Renegade Raider skin was also part of the season 1 Battle Pass. It's definitely one of the rarest skins in Fortnite Battle Royale as it was unlocked by reaching level 20 in the Battle Pass before players unlocked to purchase the skin for 1200 V-Bucks. Not many did because the game wasn't so big and the skin just isn't that great.

#2 Black Knight

Another one of the rarest Fortnite skins is the Black Knight. The skin was released in the Season 2 Battle Pass as the Tier 70 reward, also coming with a Black Shield.

Since season 2 had fewer players and due to the fact that it was harder to level up in the Battle Pass back this, this one is really rare. It will probably never be on sale again because it was part of the Battle Pass.

#1 Recon Expert

The Recon Expert was available for purchase in Season 1 for 1200 V-Bucks. This was before the Item Shop was even called the Item Shop.

With a lot fewer people playing back then and the skin not really looking that good, it is no surprise at how rare this skin is.
