Overwatch 2 Season 13 is right around the corner, and naturally, fans have quite expectations from it. With a unique 'Witch' theme already teased by the developer, fans are left wondering whether a Hero is in the works. However, judging by Juno's release in OW2 Season 12, we are reluctant to believe that developers would release a new Hero in the next Season.
This article will explore the possibility of a new Hero joining the growing roster of Overwatch 2 and when players can expect their arrival in the game.

When can we expect a new Hero in Overwatch 2?
While we have no official confirmation from the developer's side, we do expect that the latest Hero in Overwatch 2 will be released with the debut of Season 14.
During the Blizzcon 2023 event, the Overwatch 2 team unveiled its roadmap for the title for its upcoming Seasons. Juno (Support class Hero), Mauga (Tank class Hero), and Venture (Damage class Hero) were initially teased through this display, and as we reached Season 12 of the game, we saw the release of all three Heroes into their respective Hero classes.

However, fans also saw the icon and a placeholder image for another Tank on the Hero select screen during the Blizzcon display. This has led the community to believe that the upcoming Hero will be a Tank class Hero. Judging by how few Tank options players have in contrast to a class like Damage, it seems fitting that the upcoming Hero will be featured for the former class.
With a successful release event for Juno in Overwatch 2 Season 12, we speculate that the earliest players can expect a new Hero in the game has to be Season 14. Ever since the debut of Mauga, the developer has initiated an early access playthrough for all new Heroes that will be released in upcoming updates. We have seen this pattern with both Venture and Juno as well.
Season 13 is queued for release on October 15, 2024, and with no news of any early-access playthrough, we do have a soft confirmation that there will be no new Hero release with the upcoming update.
However, fans can expect a range of hero-balancing updates for the latest Season. We do believe that Tanks are going to be reworked yet again, and with how overpowered they have been in the past few Seasons, their powers will be diminished to balance out their performance in matches.
