In an era where technology is advancing by leaps and bounds, CS2's VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat) is still struggling to deal with a massive surge in exploiters. In a recent Reddit post in the CS2 forum, much of the community was convinced that VAC-Live is a myth. However, recently Valve banned over 26,000 accounts, and several clips have surfaced online, showing cheaters getting banned live during an ongoing match.

When Counter-Strike 2 was released, numerous players believed Valve might have plans to provide them with an enhanced gameplay experience through the new title. However, those dreams were shattered once a user named u/CS2CheatBusters posted a clip showcasing the poor situation they had to face in-game. They also doubted the legitimacy of the VAC anti-cheat, claiming:

"VAC-Live is a Myth"

Similar to Dota 2’s LP policy, if a Counter-Strike 2 account gets reported multiple times for using exploits, its trust factor will become low. Those accounts, in turn, will be matched in-game with other accounts with low trust factors or potential cheaters.

However, this recent massive surge of cheaters made some Redditors question their Counter-Strike profile’s trust factor. Many feel their accounts have a bad trust factor, due to which they’re all being queued in-game against cheaters. Hence, in support of that aforementioned claim of Vac, a Reddit user u/Outrageous-World7487 added:

Meanwhile, another user u/LongLeggedLurk shared their inadequate experience of matches and mentioned:

On the contrary, one user u/nierama2019810938135 claimed they hadn’t faced many blatant hackers and started playing after a long time.

Occasionally, some netizens claimed that most of these cheaters belong to high elo Premier and Competitive lobbies. However, one user, u/Jleeh7, claimed that they were in the 15-20k elo Premier lobby and did not face many blatant cheaters. They added:

“Played a lot of games 15-20k and not seen a single blatant like this either. I wonder if some gamers get lumped in with mass-reported people due to being toxic or something, maybe its just by chance though. Seen plenty of sus though.”

Now, there lies the fact that despite not facing any blatant hackers, those exploiters might’ve used advanced cheats that remained unnoticed.

Among these numerous claims, one user u/Schmich questioned the current VAC system and asked:

"So there's not even a check how fast the weapon is allowed shoot? Or if it's the same shot that the bullet does not bend like Beckham?"

In reply, u/justaRndy explained how the VAC (Valve Anti-cheat) system can't detect certain advanced hacks even if they seem blatant, blaming Valve for not paying attention to these serious issues.

Redditors believe that CS2 VAC anti-cheat became a joke

As mentioned earlier, many believe that the CS2 VAC anti-cheat system has failed to deal with the exploiters properly. However, they've recently taken a huge step by banning over 26,000 accounts. Despite having a huge increase in ban rates, some cheaters remain undetected. Professionals like s1mple have already raised their voices against the company.
