As of writing, Devil May Cry Peak of Combat offers 11 characters and 36 weapons of varying rarity. Players can upgrade units’ in-game level to increase their overall stats and skills. They can also ascend ranks from the lowest B, A, S, S+, SS, SS+, SSS, and SSS+ to the highest EX. Ranking up unlocks various passive skills to gain buffs in fights. Doing so requires character dupes and fragments.

Additionally, players can upgrade characters’ in-game level with Elixirs to boost their overall stats. However, they can only upgrade characters to their current maximum Office level. On the other hand, upgrading skills requires Red Orbs and Skill Manuals.

The weapons also come in varying rarities, from the lowest Rare, Epic, and Legendary to the highest Hellish. Players can boost weapon levels using Spectres and other resources and ranks with dupes.

Devil May Cry Peak of Combat beginners are advised to upgrade their characters and weapons and ascend their rarities at every opportunity. After completing Chapter Two, the bosses and enemies become more robust, rendering it impossible to hunt them with lower-level characters.
