Arsenal's season has been pretty much like every other season in the last decade for them. They had a bad start, went on an unbeaten run and are now fighting for a top-4 finish.

Unai Emery has done well at the club so far but has a long way to go before he can make them title contenders. It would take a squad reshuffle and a lot of effort before they are anywhere close to the title.

Despite the side doing decent in the season, EA have opted to give just 3 of their players an upgrade during the Winter Refresh. Here are 5 Arsenal players who also should have got an upgrade:

#5 – Granit Xhaka

Granit Xhaka might not be fan favourite at Arsenal but the fact that they have won more games when he is on the pitch than on the bench, shows a lot. He has been dominating the midfield for them alongside Mattéo Guendouzi and/or Lucas Torreira, making it difficult for the opponents to pass through.

Rated at 81 in FIFA 19, EA should have seen his influence on the pitch and given him an upgrade. He has an 84-rated Team of the Week card as well this season but nobody expects him to be rated so high.

However, Xhaka did deserve an upgrade from 81 to 82 and also a push from a non-rare goal card to a rare gold card during the FIFA 19 Winter Upgrades. The Swiss star has been underrated this season and thus, the Arsenal fans too have ignored his contributions.

More than anything, his pace of 48 and shooting of 65 should have been increased to 55 and 70 respectively.

#4 – Hector Bellerin

Hector Bellerin was a player most of the Arsenal fans wanted sold last season. However, with Stephan Lichtsteiner coming in, the Gooners have seen what a valuable asset the Spaniard is.

Rated at 80 in the game, Bellerin could have and should have got an upgrade to 81 at least. His pace stats of 93 are fine but defending of 75 and passing of 77 could have seen an upgrade.

#3 – Aaron Ramsey

How and why Arsenal are letting Aaron Ramsey move to Juventus for free, no one will ever know! The Welshman has shown that he is more than capable of turning the game around for the Gunners and what a valuable player he is!

Rated at just 82 in the game, Ramsey should have got an upgrade to 83. Also, he should have seen his card move from non-rare to rare gold.

#2 – Ainsley Maitland-Niles

With Bellerin out with an injury, Ainsley Maitland-Niles has stepped in and played a wonderful role as a right-back. The youngster has shown a lot of maturity and passion on the pitch whenever he has been given a chance.

Rated at 71 in FIFA 19, Maitland-Niles should have been pushed to 74 at least. His position should have also been changed from CM to RB as he has been playing there for some time now.

#1 – Mattéo Guendouzi

The most shocking exclusion in the FIFA 19 Winter Upgrades is Mattéo Guendouzi. The young Frenchman has taken the Premier League by storm and was somehow denied an upgrade in the Winter Refresh.

Rated at just 69, EA gave him a Future Stars card rated at 87, but not an upgrade to his base card. If you can afford his Future Stars card going at over 600k on all consoles, take it!
