FIFA 20 has taken gamers by storm.
FIFA 20 has taken gamers by storm.

EA launched FIFA 20, the latest iteration of the much loved football game, in September 2019. FIFA 20 now has the newest team line-ups and boasts a slew of changes and improvements. With various star-studded teams in the game, picking the best ones based on overall ratings is by no means an easy feat.

There are three main aspects when it comes to football: attacking, the midfield playmaking and lastly, the defence. Attackers need to be sharp and prolific while midfilders should have enough grit to win the ball and enough guile to spring attacks. The defence needs to be robust, backed by a goalkeeper who can get going when things get tough.

With that in mind, here is a list of teams which are exceedingly good at attacking and will shred through defences without breaking a sweat. The teams listed were picked based on their attacking players and their midfield delivery which makes them even more lethal. Contribution of advancing full-backs have also been taken into consideration.

#5 Real Madrid

Real Madrid has an attack line that can hurt opponents with speed and precision.
Real Madrid has an attack line that can hurt opponents with speed and precision.

Real Madrid has a great front-line with skilled players. The default formation of Los Blancos allows them to attack from the flanks and have an attacking midfielder ready in the final third of the park, ready to overload the box and pounce when the opportunity presents itself.

The Spanish giants play a 4-3-3 formation with a false 9. It is quite obvious that Karim Benzema plays that role for the team. He is an experienced, underrated footballer with a high understanding of the game. However, things get serious when you take into account the flank players. Especially Eden Hazard, who has joined the side in the summer.

The deadly trio of Hazard, Benzema and Vinicius Jr. give them an attack rating of 85 but the real difference makers are the midfielders. Luka Modric pops up in dangerous positions quite often and Tony Kroos contributes with his range of passing and his amazing shooting abilities. Left-back Marcelo is a great player going forward in the attack and can be lethal with his crosses in the box.

#4 Manchester City

Manchester City has improved as a team in recent years. The management has invested heavily in the transfer market to bring talented players and develop an amazing team which can challenge and win trophies. City's attackers are immensely gifted and the side has a great midfield to support their forwards.

In FIFA 20, City has a 4-3-3 formation with a defensive midfielder. The front three is made up by Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero and Bernardo Silva. The speed and great dribbling skills of Sterling are complimented by the raw talent of Aguero, one of the best strikers the Premier League has ever seen. Bernando Silva is also impactful with his great control and crossing. They also have players like Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus and Leroy Sane, who can deputise without a significant drop in quality.

Manchester City has a great midfield with skipper David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne who help the incredible attack force of the team. Their full-backs are also adept at overlapping and flooding the opposition box with crosses. Benjamin Mendy and Joao Cancelo are always eager to support during counter-attacks and are great assets for the Cityzens.

#3 Liverpool

Liverpool can take teams apart with their unreal attacking strength.
Liverpool can take teams apart with their unreal attacking strength.

The Reds are a strong side when it comes to attacking with pace and finesse. The 2018-19 UEFA Champions League holders have great attacking talents and a young and skilled group of players who support the team well. At the moment, Liverpool is probably one of the most dangerous counter-attacking team in the world.

Liverpool plays a 4-3-3 formation with slight modifications to it. The attacking line-up of the team is comprised of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah. Playing on the left flank, Mane is a big danger to the opposition with his dribbling and quick change of direction. Firmino is the perfect example of a modern-day false 9 who can play deep in the midfield but also dribble past players to assist or score a goal. Lastly, Salah has tremendous pace and dribbling prowess. The Egyptian has already proven his worth with the number of goals he has scored in the last two seasons of EPL.

It is difficult to criticise the Liverpool midfield because they work tirelessly to press the opposition and win possession high up the pitch. While the likes of Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Fabinho, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain may not be the most skilled or talented, they work as a team and a vital to Liverpool's successes. Apart from Liverpool’s attacking players, full-backs Andy Robertson and Treant Alexander-Arnold are great attacking threats when they play as secondary wingers. Both are intelligent with an eye for good passes and have can float dangerous crosses on demand.

#2 Paris Saint-Germain

Not many teams can boast an attack like Paris Saint-Germain can.
Not many teams can boast an attack like Paris Saint-Germain can.

The top dogs of the French league have a breathtaking squad. The current Ligue 1 holders have a stellar attack and a strong midfield to support it. Paris Saint-Germain's defence isn’t their strongest aspect but the incredible attack compensates for it to an extent.

PSG play with a 4-3-3 attack formation. This formation has a central-attacking midfielder instead of a central-defensive midfield player. PSG has Edinson Cavani as a single striker with Mauro Icardi also an option. However, what makes the French side incredibly strong is the sublime quality on the flanks. On the left side, Angel Di Maria can dribbles past players and ping crosses in while the right side is taken the immensely gifted speedster, Kylian Mbappe.

If you put names like Cavani, Di Maria and Mbappe together the team already looks great on paper. When you add Neymar Jr to the equation, things catapult to a new level. The Brazilian brings a bag of skills with him and is capable of destroying defences and breaking ankles at will. Neymar is immensely skilled in the game and often compared to the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo who can turn matches around single-handedly.

PSG's midfield is also stacked with talents like Marco Veratti, Pablo Sarabia, Idrissa Gueye and Ander Herrera who can weave their way around oppositions effectively and aid their attack.

#1 Barcelona

Barcelona has always been a dangerous side to play with in FIFA.
Barcelona has always been a dangerous side to play with in FIFA.

Barcelona may not be the ideal team right now in real football but they are the best team in FIFA 20. They have an unmatched attack line-up, a skilled midfield to support it and some serious firepower with their left-back.

The Spanish giants play a 4-3-3 holding formation with Sergio Busquests as their holding midfielder. Barcelona's attacking trio consists of Antoine Griezmann, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi. The left flank is occupied normally by Griezmann, who is an amazing passer and dribbler of the ball. Luis Suarez plays as a centre-forward and has incredible physicality coupled with significant ball control and top notch finishing abilities. The right flank is carried by Lionel Messi, a man who needs no introduction.

The Argentine excels at almost every aspect of the game. He has great pace with phenomenal ball control and dribbling. Messi also has amazing shooting attributes, making him a lethal finisher in FIFA 20. They also have Ousmane Dembele, a player who can make instant impact of the bench with his speed and agility.

The Barcelona midfield has talented players like Frenkie de Jong and Ivan Rakitic to support the attack. Left-back Jordi Alba also contributes greatly to the attack with his exceptional dribbling and passing abilities.
