Genshin Impact version 4.6 sees the return of the popular Windtrace event. The mini-game allows players to engage in a round of Hide and Seek at famous locations. Similar to real life, agility and the ability to blend with the surroundings are crucial to the strategy.

Unlike its previous iterations, the latest Windtrace: Seekers and Strategy event, has added a new element to the gameplay where Rebels are required to repair Signaling Devices. However, they lose their disguises against devices, allowing Hunters to spot them easily.

That said, some characters can perform better than others in this event and this article will aim to list the best characters to use for Windtrace in Genshin Impact.

Note: Some aspects of this article are subjective and reflect the writer's opinions.

Windtrace has returned to Genshin Impact in version 4.6 and players can participate until May 27, 2024. They can engage in a round of Hide and Seek by visiting Gygax at the event location in Mondstadt city and earn some Primogems and other rewards.

When playing Windtrace, it may be helpful to use characters whose color scheme blends with the map's environment or that are quicker on feet, which can be helpful to evade Hunters or capture Rebels.

Let's look at the best Genshin Impact characters for both cases.

There are four different types of maps in the Windtrace event of version 4.6. Two of them are based on the Mondstadt region, while the others feature scenery from Liyue and Inazuma.

Here are all the characters that match the color scheme of each arena in Windtrace:

  • Canyon Confrontation: Nahida, Baizhu, Arlecchino, Sucrose, Childe, Venti, Yaoyao, Sayu

Speed is of the essence when you are evading or chasing after someone in Windtrace. Generally, tall male characters are the most agile in the game and it's recommended to use them for the particular event. However, some characters can be even faster when equipped with certain weapons.

Let's look at the top choices for Windtrace with the highest movement speed:

  • Neuvillette / Wriothesley: Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds
  • Childe (Tartaglia): The First Great Magic

The aforementioned setups will provide you with the quickest characters in the Hide and Seek event. Neuvillette and Wriothesley are the only tall Catalyst users in the game. They can capitalize on the 10% movement speed increase provided by the passive effect of Lost Prayer to the Sacred Wind weapon.

Similarly, Childe is the only Bow character with a tall male model who can utilize The First Great Magic's passive effect. It increases the wielder's movement speed by 4%, 7%, or 10% based on the number of party members with a different element.
