Genshin Impact has previously collaborated with other multinational food and restaurant brands such as KFC and Pizza Hut. This will be their first collaboration with McDonald's, and news of the collab has sparked interest among both Genshin Impact fans and McDonald's enthusiasts.

On September 9, 2024, the official McDonald's X account made an intriguing post that mentioned "daily commissions" and "traveler," hinting that this might have something to do with Genshin Impact. While fans began speculating on what this might mean, the Genshin Impact account on X replied to the post with an image of Paimon wearing a McDonald's hat, sparking further discussion among fans.

Later on, Genshin Impact posted a very cryptic picture on their X account. It was basically a collection of random in-game items. While fans were scratching their heads for a while, they soon figured out that the initials of all the items displayed on the image spelled McDonald's, like so:

With this post, it is now fairly obvious that an upcoming Genshin Impact x McDonald's collab will be happening pretty soon. While no other details have been announced yet, fans are excited.

Soon after HoYoverse teased the Genshin Impact x McDonald's collab on X, the official McDonald's accounts on both X and Facebook updated their profile pictures and headers to that of Genshin Impact-related images, further solidifying the news of their upcoming collaboration.

The McDonald's bio on both these websites reads "new quest unlocks 9.17", implying that more information about the Genshin Impact x McDonald's collab will be revealed on September 17, 2024.

Previous Genshin Impact food/restaurant collaborations have always brought about a variety of goodies for the fans. This includes special Genshin Impact-themed meals/food items to in-game rewards for players taking part in the collaboration, such as Primogems and special Wind Gliders. Such exciting gifts are also expected of the Genshin Impact x McDonald's collab.
