During a livestream on May 22, 2023, Twitch star Felix "xQc" discussed the recent controversy surrounding YouTuber Ian "iDubbbz." For those who are unaware, the latter apologized for his contentious video series Content Cop. Ian claimed that his content has evolved over the years and that his previous antics were problematic. The apology went viral and left the internet divided.

Earlier today, xQc shared his "philosophical take," claiming that the situation could call for all content creators to apologize for the edgy content they produced between 2012 and 2020. He added:

"I had a philosophical take about it because I really, I took... I zoomed out and I realized that if that's something you need from people, then you should have every creator apologize for almost all of their videos that were uploaded in times of 2012 to 2020. Pretty much, almost all the uploads. All of the old skits and you want them to apologize for every single one of their videos. All of them."

"If you need an apology from everybody, it's a disaster" - xQc talks about recent controversy surrounding iDubbbz's apology

The discussion began with xQc saying that creators issuing an apology for previous content was "kind of fine." He then referred to the drama surrounding iDubbbz's situation by saying:

"My take is that... I think doing the apology or not... I think it's kind of fine, either way. And I think that's about it. I think that's the way he wants to direct his s**t and do whatever his thing, it is what it is."

Following his "philosophical take" on the debacle, the French-Canadian personality claimed that if the online community requires everyone to apologize, then it is a "disaster":

"How they want to deal with the future is up to them. If they want to apologize, sure. If they don't want to, I think that's also fine. I think, if you need an apology from everybody, it's a disaster! It means that... it's just some c*ck s**t. That's fine. That's what I think about it. There you go."

A few moments later, xQc claimed that "most YouTubers" have produced edgy content on their channels:

"Most YouTubers did something, like, edgy (unrecognizable) at the time. Almost every YouTuber! At least, one of their uploads, of like, some edgier content. That's how it is!"
