On May 19, 2024, Thomas "Sykkuno" announced that he preferred to livestream on Twitch rather than on YouTube, stating that he "planned on sticking around" on the Amazon-owned platform. While interacting with his audience, the content creator's attention was drawn to a viewer, who inquired if he had shifted platforms. Sykkuno responded:
"'You moved to streaming on Twitch?' Yup! We're back on Twitch, guys, and I plan on sticking around here. I kind of prefer it. I don't think there has been a huge difference. I'll be honest, I think in terms of viewership and all that, I don't think there has been a big difference. It's been about the same."
The Las Vegas native stated he favored the Twitch community and emote functionality over YouTube. He added that Twitch was "better for streamers."

"But, I do like the community more here. The emotes are way, way better. You know, we're getting raids from friends. People actually know I'm alive. Other YouTubers kind of knew we existed but we never raided each other. Never interacted with each other. But on Twitch, it's definitely... you know, it's a little better for streamers. Kind of makes sense because this is a streaming-only website."
Sykkuno insinuates that livestreaming on YouTube was "isolated"
After Sykkuno voiced his preference for Twitch over YouTube, some fans commented that broadcasting on Google's platform felt "isolated." In response, the content creator stated that there are many streamers on YouTube, but only a few are well-known.
He said:
"'Sounds isolated.' I mean, it kind of is. There aren't that many... how many streamers are on YouTube? Well, there are a lot. But, you know, that we really now, there are only a few. I don't know. I feel like... what's it called? Yeah, we don't know that many. I don't know. At least that are a part of us, like, our community."

While citing examples of YouTube streamers such as Ludwig, Rachell "Valkyrae," and Leslie "Fuslie," Thomas added:
"So, Ludwig and Rae, and Leslie, and other than them, who else? Lily, yeah. Myth, I haven't seen in ages, but yeah. Miyoung is not on YouTube. I don't know. I feel like there ain't that many, guys. There ain't that many."
Sykkuno is a renowned internet personality, best known for playing games such as Grand Theft Auto 5, Valorant, and Elden Ring. On May 6, 2024, he surprised the community by announcing his return to Twitch after exclusively livestreaming on YouTube for two years.
