Find the entrance to the Mirror VPC
Head west of STC Malachite to locate a fenced area and a low-rise building marking the Mirror VPC entrance. Enter this building to progress.
Get to the Control Room
Inside the Mirror VPC, ascend the stairs in the large room before taking care of the giant mutant rats that attack you. Loot consumables and ammo from the corpses, and then proceed down a narrow hallway to find Oleksiy Bak's body. The control room is located behind the left door, but more rats will appear when you approach.
Install the Fuses in the Mirror Switchboard Room
In the same room, locate Sgt. Nikitin's body and take the High-Voltage Fuse. Install the fuse in the middle switchboard in the control room. Once done, pull the red lever near the door to activate the facility. This will trigger a hostile event during which Kolya Deputee's body will rise and attack you.
Optional: Find the Connection Instructions
Once you activate the lever, you will be attacked by several bodies in the large room. Some previously locked doors will also be opened. Search these rooms to find the X-Network Connection Instructions near a brown table, completing the optional objective.

Launch the Observatory's Primary Installation
Proceed through the gray door and ascend the stairs. Along the way, you’ll encounter Temko Kickass’s body and an enemy soldier being killed. Once you spot the soldier, backtrack to the previous room, where you have to take on reanimated bodies. In the final room, defeat a bandaged mutant and press the red button on the control panel to advance the mission.
Get Rid of the Obstruction Blocking the Rails
Exit through the gray door to the rails. Then, use a long-range weapon to distract the Chimera mutant without engaging it in direct combat. Once the Chimera is distracted, close the door to keep it out of the observatory.
Reboot the Primary Installation
Go back inside and press the red button again to reboot the installation. Afterward, Prof. Ozersky will speak to you. Choose any dialogue option to proceed.
Return to Rostok
Leave the observatory and travel to Rostok, avoiding enemy soldiers and the Chimera. Once there, find Richter and choose the dialogue option, "Ozersky said you could help me find the people I'm after." Depending on whether you have an electronic collar, Richter will either send you to Dvupalov or provide coordinates to hunt a Bayun mutant.
Acquire the Collar from the Mutants
The Bayun mutant is located at the Boathouse southeast of Rostok. Upon arrival, you’ll encounter non-hostile soldiers. Enter the house, kill the Bayun, and loot its body to obtain the electronic collar.
Bring the Collar to Richter
Return to the small gatehouse near Rostok and hand over the collar to Richter, completing the quest.
