Everything you need to know about Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive
Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive is a different game from Solo Leveling: Arise. The story is the same as the Solo Leveling webtoon that follows the journey of E-rank hunter Sung Jinwoo, like Arise. However, Overdrive features new combat and gameplay mechanics.
For instance, you can parry and guard the enemy’s attacks during combat, in addition to Extreme Evasion. Like Arise, the title lets you choose from various Sung Jinwoo skills and weapons to equip before entering the combat.
Additionally, you can choose which combat style you want to use before entering a Gate. There are four combat styles: Assassin, Duelist, Elementalist, and Ruler. Each style has varying playing difficulty — Assassin being very hard, Elementalist being hard, while both Ruler and Duelist are easy.
Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive also offers a real-time multiplayer feature, allowing you to partake in co-op raids with up to three other players. You can create a co-op lobby or join one that is created by others. The title also lets you select and join co-op lobbies based on the Boss Monster and Chapter.
Overdrive doesn’t have a gacha system, meaning you don’t have to rely on RNG to get weapons and hunters. You can obtain Sung Jinwoo and other character weapons with the crafting feature.
The materials required to craft are obtainable as rewards for clearing the stage. Moreover, the weapons you can equip Sung Jinwoo with are based on the combat style you choose. The combat style also influences Sung Jinwoo's stats.
Regarding hunters, you don’t have to summon on any banner like in Solo Leveling: Arise. Instead, you will use the Draw feature to negotiate a contract with the hunter you want and hire them to include in your team. Doing so requires Commemorative Coins.
First, you must spend some Gold or wait for the feature time to meet new hunters. Then, you can adjust the negotiation amount and offer them to join you. The success rate for hiring rises as you increase the negotiation amount.
You can also equip artifacts to hunters and Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive. However, the Artifacts' names and effects differ from those of Solo Leveling: Arise.
Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive is set to release for Xbox PC in the fall of 2025 and on Steam this year. The title got a 2026 release for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox Cloud. If interested, you can try out the demo version on Steam. You can wishlist Overdrive on the Microsoft Store for the latest updates and news.
