F1 2012 - Complete standings at mid-season

It’s been a thrilling 2012 season of F1 championship. We saw 11 fabulous contests in 11 different races, all going down to wire and being as hot as F1 car engines. There’s tough competition in both tables – Driver’s championship as well as Constructor’s championship.

Top five drivers Fernando Alonso, Mark Webber, Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen continue to have the chance of topping each other and other drivers who complete Top-10 have also had taste of the podium.

Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso leads the Drivers Championship with 164 points 40 ahead of Red Bull’s Mark Webber who has 124 points while his teammate Sebastian Vettel has 122 points just 2 behind Webber. While McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton (117) and Lotus’s Kimi Raikkonen (116) are placed at 4th and 5th place as it’s going to be dog-fight for first five positions.

Well where driver’s championship is at thrilling stage, Constructors championship is no different from that. This season has displayed everything which is great for a sport. It’s no longer a battle between Red Bull or McLaren and Ferrari to be at top. Red Bull (246) is leading the race while McLaren (193) and Lotus (192) are placed at 2nd and 3rd spot with McLaren just ahead by 1 point. Ferrari (189) is just behind Lotus at 4th position. Mercedes (106) is at 5th place, while Sauber with 80 points have also managed to show their strength this season.

In the latter half is Williams with 53 points and Sahara Force India with 46, banked together by Paul di Resta and Nico Hulkenburg this season. Their hunger to grab points in each race continues to make their fans cheer. While Toro Roso is at 9th place with 6 points, Caterham, Marussia and HRT still haven’t been able to open their account.

Next stop is Belgium and racers will enter 12th contest of season after a long break of more than month. And we do expect F1 to carry its thrilling form further.
