Monaco, May 24 (IANS) Force India driver Sergio Perez brought home six points for his seventh place finish at the prestigious Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix here on Sunday.

Perez, who started seventh, had a strong race and came home 15 seconds behind race winner Nico Rosberg of Mercedes after 78 laps of the 3.337 km Circuit de Monaco. Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel finished second while Rosberg's teammate Lewis Hamilton, who started on pole, finished third.

Perez's teammamate Nico Hulkenberg, however, wasn't so lucky and finished 11th and outside of points despite an early run-in with McLaren's Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard received a five-second stop-go penalty for pushing Hulkenberg, who started in 13th, into the barriers.

Perez is now placed 11th in the drivers' championship with 11 points while Hulkenberg is 13th with six points. Force India currently sit in sixth position with 21 points in the constructors' championship.

Next up, the Canadian GP will be held in Montreal on June 7.
