Formula 1 has always been an extremely fancy and enthralling sport to watch. Keeping the viewers on the edge of their seats, it has always brought moments to rejoice but what when it takes a horrific turn?

Along with skills and techniques, deadly crashes have been an integral part of Formula 1. In the 21st century Formula 1, gathered great criticism from across the world due to insufficient action between cars resulting in decreased entertainment level. Lethal crashes so far have cost life of 50 drivers since the sport began at Silverstone back in 1950. With advancing times came new technology and increased safety measures that eventually pushed down the number of casualties in Formula One. We wish these horrendous incidents don't get repeated Ever again.

#1 Ayrton Senna's last moments- 1994 Imola

According to the Formula 1 history, this was the most dreadful crash that ever took place. It could not have been worse as it took away the life of an invincible triple world champion and left the world in deep despair. The misfortune occurred when Senna collided into barricades at blinding speeds, it seemed he was fine initially but then the unthinkable happened and stewards brought out the red flags, bringing the race to an abrupt stop. He was air lifted to the nearest hospital but destiny had different plans for the legend and formula one suffered a profound loss as the hero breathed his last.

#2 Niki Lauda deceives death- 1976 Germany

This incident shook the Formula 1 world as the Australian saw death very closely. It happened when Lauda lost control over his car at the fast kink before Bergwerk right curve, his Ferrari snapped to the right and crashed into the barrier, spun through the fencing, and ultimately stopped in the middle of the track engulfed in flames only to get hit by another speeding car. The champion came out of death's mouth valiantly and it was told that Lauda spoke of not participating in the season due to safety reasons.

Robert Kubica's great survival- Montreal 2007

It was yet another gruesome scene when Kubica's crash shook the world. The tragedy happened back in 2007 when he smashed into walls at superseding speed, rolled across the track and collided into another barrier. It all happened at a very high speed, the BMW also managed to take out two other cars in the course resulting in a dreadful accident. The paramedics were quick enough to rush him to the hospital where he was declared stable and was fortunate enough to avoid any trauma. The F1 world was extremely happy to have him back after this terrific incident.

#4 The trio blast - 2012 Belgium Grand Prix

This was also one of the terrible accidents in the Formula One history which victimized Romain Grosjean, Lewis Hamilton, and Fernando Alonso. Grosjean raced past Hamilton and made contact with the Mclaren in the maneuver which lead to a horrific crash but in midst of all these, Alonso got unlucky. The Spaniard had no idea what was going on and in a fraction of a second, his car was in the air and suffered major damage as a result of Hamilton crashing into the Ferrari. This occurred on the opening lap on the very first turn. All three were given medical assistance as soon as possible and were fortunate enough to walk away without any injuries. Not often do we see an accident as deadly as this in formula one.

#5 Michael Schumacher's career-threatening race - The Silverstone Grand Prix 1999

This was the worst as the world champion suffered a career-threatening injury due to the crash. The accident dates back to 1999 Silverstone Grand Prix where German crashed at Stowe corner due to a brake failure. The accident took a serious turn because of the speed at which Schumacher crashed into the wall and eventually broke one of his legs. The accident resulted in Schumacher spending his time in the pits for a few races and eventually ending his championship title hopes.
