German Grand Prix: Consistent Webber takes pole

Saturday afternoon at the Nürburgring was full of drama as Mark Webber secured pole position for Red Bull by edging ahead of McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton. The result was an interesting one , for it will be first time in 15 races that Sebastian Vettel will not feature in front row. Vettel finished third and 2010 champion Fernando Alonso finished 4 th, teammate Felipe Massa finished 5th. Position 6 th was occupied by Nico Rosberg for Mercedes, Jenson Button had a torrid time and he finished only a single run he occupies position 7th. The results could prove significant for team Red Bull as they look to strengthen their position in constructor championship.

Webber continues to perform well for Red Bull

The result also brought disappointment for Ferrari and Fernando Alonso. The resurgence of Ferrari and Alonso’s chance of winning Driver Championship will depend much on the race result. Alonso suffered in practice and could not deliver the pole position which the Ferrari faithful were expecting. It was also a horrible result for Jenson Button, he was able to complete a single run due to technical issues with his car. Meanwhile his teammate Lewis Hamilton finished 2nd and brought some relief for McLaren team. Meanwhile Michael Schumacher finished 10 th and it is highly unlikely that the home fans will be able to see him on podium.

Great Result for Force India and Karun Chandok

Force India continued with its impressive performance, Adrian Sutil finished 8th while Paul di Resta finished 12 th. If Sutil continues his impressive performance we might see him scoring some crucial points for Force India. It was his best qualifying performance of the season. Elsewhere Karun Chandok had an impressive showing for Team Lotus and he finished 21 st. It was impressive performance by Indian considering the fact that it was his first qualifing session for quite a long time. Hopefully, he will be able to finish the race on Sunday.
