Lotus driver Romain Grosjean has been handed a 20-second post-race penalty for his clash with McLaren’s Jenson Button after Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix.

The Frenchman was deemed responsible for his clash with Button, when he overtook him on the 25th lap.

Right after the clash, Grosjean went over the white line and held his ground. Button pit right after the incident so Grosjean could not hand over his position back as stated in the rules.

After applying the penalty, Grosjean still remains in sixth place after gaining a lead of 21 seconds over seventh place Button.

During the race, the aggressive Frenchman was handed a drive-through penalty while making a pass on Ferrari driver Felipe Massa heading into Turn 4.
