#1- 2007 Australian Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton’s Formula One debut is a race well remembered in motorsport history. It announced the arrival of a unique talent and left a new name of the lips of the racing world. Starting fourth on the grid in Melbourne the British driver caught up and passed two-time world champion and new McLaren team mate Fernando Alonso around the outside of the first corner en route to third. It was the start of an incredible run of nine podiums finishes in his first nine races.

#2- 2007 Canadian Grand Prix

The first pole and the first victory of Hamilton’s career came in Montreal where the 22-year-old led for most of the race despite the safety car being deployed four times. From his first F1 race three months ago it seemed like only a matter of time before Lewis Hamilton claimed his first Grand Prix win. It was fitting that, when it came, his victory was a triumph of maturity and mastery over changing conditions in a complex race. Hamilton was leaving everyone standing. Lapping up to at least half a second faster than everyone else he had a quite a good lead by midway through the race. Having acquired a taste for victory, the youngster won again from pole the following weekend in Indianapolis.

#3- 2007 Japanese Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton took a huge stride towards becoming the first man to win the title in his first season with victory in the Japanese Grand Prix. The Englishman drove a masterful race in treacherous, wet conditions as his chief rival and McLaren team-mate Fernando Alonso crashed out. Hamilton's performance, his first wet Grand Prix win, was as controlled and impressive as any he has produced in the scintillating 2007 season.

#4- 2008 British GP

Hamilton’s only British GP victory to date came in rainy conditions in 2008. As others struggled to stay on track, Hamilton, who had started fourth on the grid, went from strength to strength, eventually winning by 68 seconds. “It is definitely and by far the best victory I've ever had,” he said afterwards. McLaren called the changing conditions perfectly and picked the correct type of tyres and specifications for the particular race. Where others struggled immensely in the heavy rain, Hamilton showed his undoubted talent by winning at Silverstone by more than a minute. The Brit would go on to win the title this year by a point.

#5- 2012 Canadian Grand Prix

Another thrilling race, Hamilton won the 2012 Canadian GP. He kept his nerve admirably, making McLaren’s two-stop strategy work to perfection as he hunted down and overhauled Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso - both on one-stoppers - in the closing stages. There was the now familiar heart-in-mouth moment as McLaren’s pit crew fumbled Hamilton’s second stop but Hamilton was not to be denied, putting in a succession of blistering laps to catch and pass his rivals.
