Looks like the Lotus F1 team have been personally hurt at Kimi’s decision to leave the team. After the decision of Raikkonen to Ferrari was made official, the Lotus team tweeted the following, ” So Kimi is off to Ferrari for 2014; it hurts a little bit..” along with the following picture.

The tweet caused a stir among media and fans alike. The Lotus team were quick to apologize with another tweet, “Wow, what a reaction! Thank you, and if that one came as a bit of a shock, sorry. We’ll be sure to warn you next time.”

Lotus F1 team try to limit the damage

Following the incident FIA spokesman Pierre Regent said: “We spoke to Lotus and they assured us that no offence was intended.”

Looks like the team were shocked at Kimi’s decision to leave the team while the rest of the world already knew about it.
