Red Bull driver Mark Webber has said that even though Sebastian Vettel won the race at Monza, the atmosphere at the circuit was hostile to his team, and felt it was unpalatable for the Monza crowd to boo the race winner Sebastian Vettel.

Vettel was booed by the fans from the moment he beat Fernando Alonso to the chequered flag and Webber feels that the crowd showed little sportsmanship.

“Sebastian won the race and the atmosphere is not completely correct but anyway…that’s their choice,” Webber said.

However, Vettel sees the positives in the crowd’s reactions.

“I said on the radio on the in-lap (back to the pits after the flag) that the more booing we get, the better we have done today. It’s normal,” he said.

“I don’t blame the people to be honest; I think their love of Ferrari is in their genes. It’s something very special,” he added.

Vettel is currently on a march to his fourth consecutive championship win with a healthy 53-point lead at the top.
