Williams driver Valtterri Bottas has said that the introduction of new rules for next season will be a good thing for the sport.

Bottas, who debuted in Formula One last season, had a solid season and finished as the top rookie in 2013 by beating his former team-mate Pastor Maldonado.

He will race alongside Felipe Massa next season at the team and welcomed the string of new regulations.

“The positive thing next year is that there are so many changes, [so] even [for] drivers with a lot of experience there will be a lot more new things for them. In the end, I see it as a good thing. For me, and especially for the team, it’s a good thing to catch up,” he said.

“We have a lot to think about, especially at the beginning of the season, getting comfortable with everything, and I do look forward to that. It will also be interesting to feel the turbo engines and how they behave. It’s very interesting, especially for a driver. There are a lot of new things,” Bottas added.
