Before Roscoe, the 40-year-old British driver also had a dog named Coco. However, the pet died in 2020 at just six years old, as confirmed by Hamilton through an emotional Instagram post.
Meanwhile, Roscoe also went through a health scare earlier this year after getting diagnosed with pneumonia. At the 2025 Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton revealed that his pet dog's health was making him anxious.
"He's 12 and a half years old, so he's an old boy. He had pneumonia, but he's fine now. But definitely this is a time where every time I get a text message from the lady who's looking after him, my heart stops for a second. You know, what's next?" Hamilton told reporters, via ESPN.
The Ferrari driver added that he wanted Roscoe to accompany him to the 2025 British Grand Prix, which happens to be his home race. However, given his health status, nothing is certain for now. Regardless, Hamilton is relieved to see Roscoe fine with happy spirits.
On the track, however, Hamilton is not having a great season with Ferrari. He has only 71 points for the first nine races of the season.
FIA stewards address Lewis Hamilton retirement rumors

Lewis Hamilton, 40, made a switch to Ferrari earlier this year in a shocking move. However, he has been unable to live up to the preseason hype. In the first nine Grand Prix races, the Brit hasn't won a single podium. Though he did win a Sprint race in China.
However, with his performance going downhill, FIA steward Derek Warwick believed that retirement could be on the cards for the seven-time world champion. Warwick said, via Crash.net:
"Do I want Lewis to win races and challenge for the World Championship? Yes. I think he deserves it. I think he deserves that 8th world title. It’s not going to happen this year, and I think if it carries on the way it is at the minute, I suspect he's already thinking of stopping."
Warwick added that Lewis Hamilton underestimated the challenges of adjusting to a new team since he spent the last 11 years with Mercedes. Hence, despite his vast experience, he has been unable to get used to the Ferrari car.
