The reigning Formula 1 world champion, Max Verstappen, has been dominating the sport for some time now. He has already amassed four titles since 2021, and in line with this, a former Red Bull mechanic has predicted when Verstappen might decide to 'call it a day' in F1.
Verstappen has been making his trade with Red Bull since 2016. None of his teammates so far have been able to match his might on the team.
With the Dutchman on four Drivers' titles, Red Bull's former mechanic Calum Nicholas has asserted that the former could retire from F1 after amassing five titles. He said:
"Five, I think Max is going to win this year, and then I think he’s going to call it a day." Nicholas said, via Lucas Stewart's Youtube channel.
Moreover, he further went on to add the following:
"I definitely don’t know anything. To not back Max is just lunacy."
The 2025 Formula 1 season is nine rounds down, and Max Verstappen is with 137 points in the Drivers' standings. He is behind the prolific McLaren duo of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
Max Verstappen seems to be doing the 'best he can' amid tough 2025 season

The ongoing ground-effect era has primarily belonged to Max Verstappen. It is only this year that McLaren has managed to get the jump on Red Bull in terms of car performance.
In line with the Milton Keynes-based outfit's never-ending issues with the 2025 challenger, Verstappen has asserted that he was doing the 'best he can' with the tools he had at his disposal.
In an interaction with the BBC, the Dutchman added:
"It's not that I don't believe. I just rock up to the track and I do the best I can every single weekend. I don't need to believe in it. Fully or not. I know that every time that I go out there, I do the best I can. If that's with a car that is capable of P5, I will put it P5.
"If it's capable of winning, I'll win. Honestly, I just approach it very simple, which also doesn't eat up a lot of energy as well, so I have a lot of free time outside of that." Verstappen said.
The 2025 Formula 1 season has 15 Grand Prix events remaining on the race calendar. Next is the Canadian Grand Prix, which Max Verstappen triumphed in last year.
Keeping in view everything that has been discussed, it will be extremely fascinating to see Verstappen lock horns with the two McLarens at the Gilles Villeneuve racing circuit. Moreover, even the Mercedes of George Russell could spring up some surprises, knowing his might as a racing driver.
