Sergio Perez's brother Antonio Perez dropped a hilarious dig after Max Verstappen's victory in Brazil. He directed the comment directly towards a British media company.
Verstappen won his first F1 Grand Prix since Spain this year. Despite leading the championship, he faced quite a challenge from his competitors as Red Bull's dominant form faded. However, a soaked Interlagos gave the reigning champion the perfect opportunity to turn his P17 start into a race win.
As he celebrated this victory on Instagram, his teammate Sergio Perez's brother Antonio Perez dropped a hilarious comment, tagging a British media giant. He wrote:
"@skysportf1 do you guys like it???"
This was seemingly targeted amidst the ongoing dispute between the British media and Max Verstappen. After the latter's race-winning numbers dropped, the media was extremely critical of his performance. However, he managed to do just enough to keep his lead in the World Championship and extended the gap by 62 points after winning in Brazil last week.
During the press conference after the race, he also shared a witty statement regarding the British media, questioning their lack of presence.
Max Verstappen's hilarious take on British media's lack of presence in Brazil
Max Verstappen took a dig at the British media as well right after winning the Brazilian Grand Prix. Joined by the unprecedented pair of both Alpines on the podium, he inquired about the British media from the journalists present at the conference.
"I have a quick question here," Verstappen said. "I mean, I appreciate all of you being here, but I don't see any British press! [Do] they have to run to the airport, or they don't know where the press conference is?"
Verstappen's victory was quite a surprise for the fans and a pleasure for Red Bull. After having dropped to third place in the Constructors' Championship behind Ferrari, this turned out to be a huge morale boost. Meanwhile, their championship rivals McLaren had a tough weekend with questionable strategies and a lack of grip on the wet surface.
Although the latter still lead the Constructors' title, it has seemingly become difficult for Lando Norris to get ahead of Max Verstappen in the Drivers' Championship. Three races remain in the 2024 calendar and with a gap of more than 60 points, it could be tough for Norris to win his first championship.
However, Red Bull would still have a lot of work remaining on their 2025 car. Adrian Newey will not be working with the team as he is set to move to Aston Martin. Moreover, their performance looks to be in shambles when compared to their dominant form. The future might as well mark the end of the RB-dominance era.
