Due to the cancelation of the 2023 Emilia Romagna GP, F1 decided to showcase the re-run of the iconic 2008 Monaco GP. Fans were treated to some exceptional driving by the then-McLaren driver as he displayed his superb wet weather prowess to march to his first win at the legendary track.

The win was made even special because earlier in the race, he had punctured his right rear tire after colliding with the barriers in the rainy conditions. Hamilton's fans took to Twitter to shower praise on the Mercedes driver.

One fan even claimed that the seven-time world champion is still showing his skills in the rain to this day, writing:

"There is absolutely no way Michael Schumacher was quicker over one lap than Lewis Hamilton" - F1 pundit

F1 pundit Peter Windsor mentioned that he refuses to believe Mercedes technical director James Allison's comments that Michael Schumacher was better than Lewis Hamilton over one lap.

During his Live Stream on his YouTube channel, Windsor said:

“I think engineers are entitled to their opinion but I’ve had my fair share of race engineers and performance engineers giving their opinion on drivers."
"And most of their opinions are based on conversations with the drivers in debriefs, or in the car, lap times, quality of handshake, and what it’s like having dinner, very few are based on actually watching the driver out on the circuit and looking at what he does."

Windsor added:

“And I’m not saying that James Allison doesn’t know exactly what he’s talking about, I’m sure he’s basing all that on all his own information, but to me, there is absolutely no way in the world Michael Schumacher at his peak, was quicker over one lap than Lewis Hamilton at his peak over one lap, no way. Sorry, I just totally don’t get that, I disagree with it.”

Lewis Hamilton has 103 pole positions compared to Schumacher's 68 during the course of their careers. The Briton has broken almost every single record that the German held in the sport apart from most world championships won, which is currently tied between the two at seven.
