World Endurance Racing veteran and former F1 driver Sebastien Buemi is of the opinion that Max Verstappen will be a top driver in the Endurance Series if the Dutchman makes a switch in the future. Speaking in a recent interview, Buemi stated that Verstappen will be up to speed quickly if he takes the wheel at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Verstappen, a four-time F1 world champion, is regarded as one of the best drivers in the sport. Besides being one of the best, he is also a gifted and talented racing driver in other sectors as well, especially in GT3 and simulations.
The Red Bull driver is considered one of the best simulation racers out there, and his records with Team Redline are a testament to that. Pointing them out, Buemi spoke to Racingnews365 exclusively, where he shared his confidence in Verstappen.
"Directly. Absolutely directly," Buemi said. "I mean, he's doing so much simulation. He knows the race already, very, very well. He knows the schedule, he knows how it works."
"He [Verstappen] knows it perfectly, even if he's never taken part in the race. He knows exactly how the weekend will go and how it works. So I have absolutely no worry that he would be directly pretty impressive," Buemi further added.
Away from F1, Max Verstappen recently caused a stir by racing at the famous Nurburgring Nordschleife in a GT3 car under the pseudonym 'Franz Hermann'. His act did not go unnoticed as F1, from their official social media accounts, referred to Verstappen with the same name.
Max Verstappen shared his take on WEC future

During the pre-2025 F1 season, Max Verstappen let his feelings known about the World Endurance Racing. Speaking to the media, the Red Bull driver stated that he wishes to try it in the future, but is currently unable to do so due to his packed schedule.
"With the busy schedule, it’s almost impossible. We finish [F1] so late in the season and then to properly prepare before heading to Daytona [in January] is really impossible," Verstappen said (via The Drive).
“I know I want to do it but when I do it I want and try to win it, and the only way to do it is to do proper testing — which is not possible at the moment. But who knows, maybe in a few years time. I will still be young-ish," Verstappen added.
Max Verstappen is aiming for his fifth straight F1 trophy in 2025. However, he appears bleak against the dominant McLaren drivers, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, who have collectively won seven out of nine races so far this season.
