Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso has revealed that Pirelli boss Paul Hembrey apologized to him after hitting back at comments made by the Spaniard at the Korean Grand Prix.
“We invited Paul for a chat. He accepted, he came, he apologised and we understand (each another) now. It seems strange with the season they are having that they speak up, but, as I said, he apologised,” Alonso said.
Alonso had earlier criticized the tyre’s quality to which Hembrey replied by saying that the driver should learn from Sebastian Vettel on how to use the tyres effectively.
The former world champion added that Ferrari was hurt badly by the mid-season changes to the tyre along with a number of other teams.
“Force India is now struggling for points. I also remember Sauber struggling not to be out of qualifying in Q1, and now they’re fighting out the front of the race,” he said.
