Sebastian Vettel: Red Bull getting better

Vettel celebrates with Adrian Newey and Christian Horner after winning

World Champion Sebastian Vettel has spoken out in praise about his team Red Bull Racing. The team with which he has won his three world titles and probably a fourth this year, has also won the Constructors Championship three years in a row.

In an interview with Austrian Magazine Sportwoche, Vettel said: “The team has got better and better over the years. There are less mistakes now, and more confidence.”

Vettel and Red Bull together have taken 6 out of 6 Championships on offer in the last three years. In November we can expect this to be 8 out of 8, which is quite an amazing achievement after considering their rivals consist of Ferrari, Mercedes, McLaren and Lotus.

On the season at hand, Vettel said: “The first half of the season was very good, and the start of the second half has been even better, but we can see that the smallest things make a big difference. Ten degrees up or down and everything looks different. We need to stay focused, but it does seem that in any conditions we can always be in the top five.”

Vettel’s dominance in 2013 has sparked off comparisons with the 2011 season where Vettel won 11 out of the 19 races. However Vettel made it clear that it isn’t as easy as it looks. He said: “When people talk about 2011, they say it was so dominant and easy. But I don’t like the word dominant, and it is never easy.”

Vettel leads the Championship by 53 points over nearest rival Fernando Alonso, while Red Bull lead the Constructor’s table by 104 points from Ferrari.
