The day is finally upon us when Liverpool’s long-serving captain and player Steven Gerrard plays his last home match at Anfield in front of his team's supporters as the Reds face Crystal Palace on Sunday. Gerrard will be moving to MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy at the end of the season, thus bringing down the curtains on a 17-year playing career for Liverpool in which he has made more than 700 appearances.
With the Merseyside team, Gerrard has won two FA Cups, three Football League Cups, one UEFA Cup, two UEFA Super Cups, a Community Shield and a UEFA Champions League trophy. The 34-year-old’s career wasn’t as trophy-laden as he would have wanted, but the legacy that he leaves behind is what makes his Liverpool career special.
