Football kits are one of the biggest sources of income for any club. Football has grown tremendously over the years and in today's world, money plays a very important role for any club. Therefore, clubs sign world record fees with kit sponsors such as Adidas, Puma, Nike to name a few.

Without much ado, let us look at the 10 most expensive football kit deals.


#10 AC Milan - Puma €12m (2018-Unknown)

The Serie A club recently announced that they have cut short their deal with Adidas and effective July 1st, 2018, Puma will be their new kit supplier.

The official figures are not revealed yet, but it believed that it will be around €12m/year, which is less compared to what Adidas were paying - €20m. But it is believed that with additional bonuses, things should work out just fine for the Italian club.

Both the parties have mutually ended their relationship after 20 long years and share some unforgettable memories together, winning 12 trophies in the process.


#9 Juventus - Adidas £20m (2016-2022)

The Serie A giants mutually ended their relationship with Nike at the end of 2014/15 season before Adidas took over from the beginning of 2015/16 season.

Another Serie A club on the list, Juventus have a deal with Adidas that currently runs until 2022 earning £20m/year.

The Old Lady will also benefit from royalties when surpassing sales target, though the numbers are disclosed. Adidas also controls the licensing and merchandising activities for a fixed remuneration of €6m.

#8 Liverpool - Standard Chartered £25m (2010-2019)

Liverpool and Standard Chartered first signed a 4-year-deal in 2010 for £20m/year. An extension of 2 years was agreed at the end of 2013 and details were kept confidential. A new deal was then agreed at the end of 2015/16 season which would run for another 3 years with the club earning £25m/year.

The current deal expires at the end of next season and no talks between both the parties have taken place to extend/end it.

Spurs announced that they had signed a new multi-year deal with Nike last season. Under Armour was their previous supplier for the last 5 years.

Though the numbers have not been released, it is believed that the Lillywhites will be earning £30m/year, which is thrice the amount they were getting from Under Armour.

The new deal which was announced last year will cover the men's, women's and the academy squads. The coaching staff and Tottenham Hotspur Foundation representatives will also be wearing the Nike kit.

Back in 2014, Arsenal struck a then-record deal in English football by signing a deal with Puma for 5 years which would see the club earn £170m in that period.

Arsenal were earning £55m/year over the period of 7 years and let Nike go, who were the club's sponsorer for more than 20-years before signing a deal with Puma.

However, lately, it is believed that Arsenal will sign a new lucrative deal with Adidas, who were in pole position to take over from Nike but were beaten by Puma.

Real Madrid have a relation with Adidas as their kit supplier since 1998. The current deal earns Madrid £34/year + add-ons (the information has not been revealed) and expires in 2020. Their bitter rivals, Barcelona earn nearly £100m/year and Perez also wants a similar deal. It has been reported that there have been talks that Madrid want to renew their contract which would make them earn a whopping £85/year for the next 10 years.

According to Football Leaks, both the parties have signed a contract that would see the La Liga giants get a whopping revenue of £850 over the span of 10 years. On top of that, the club will earn 22.5% of sales on all club branded Adidas merchandise.

The bonuses are also very lucrative. The club stands to earn £2.1m every time they win the league which will then be £3m after 2020, given the inflation. A Champions League triumph will see the club earn £4.2m rising to £5.9m.

However, nothing has been official and both the parties are yet to sign this contract.

The German giants signed a new deal with Adidas in 2015 and extended it until 2030 which will see the club earn a whopping £645m over the span of 15 years.

The club had a deal which would have expired after 5 years but they sought to extend it further until 2030.

The new deal was announced shortly after Bayern lost the German cup semi-final to Borussia Dortmund on penalties in 2015.

Chelsea signed a new record-breaking deal with Nike in 2016 that would see the club earn £900m over the span of 16 years.

Chelsea's previous kit supplier was Adidas and the club had announced that they were ending their contract with them early after 6 years.

While the figures have not been announced publically, it is believed that the Blues will receive £60m/year, which is almost double to what they were earning before, for the next 16 years.

After Nike ended their relationship with United in 2014/15, Adidas swooped in and became the club's newest sponsor for the next 10 years.

The current deal sees the club earn a mammoth £750m over the span of 10 years starting from the 2015/16 season.

Nike had been paying the Red Devils £23.5m/year which is nothing compared to Adidas' new £75m/year deal.

Adidas will also be providing training kits and will have the exclusive rights to distribute deal-branded merchandising products worldwide.

Nike has been Barcelona's kit supplier since 1998 and in 2016 it was announced that Nike has extended their deal with the La Liga giants until 2028.

The current deal was set to end at the of this season but the club renewed it and the new deal will start at the start of next season and will continue for a period of 10 years

Club president, Josep Maria Bartomeu had previously stated that he would like the revenues to reach €1b by 2021 and this new deal could go a long way in achieving that goal, becoming the 1st club to do so.
