The January transfer window is done and dusted, with the United faithful getting no glimpse of a new face at Old Trafford. They will have to wait until summer to feast on a new signing, and it seems the club has already started preparations for the transfers to be done after the season ends.

On that note, let's have a look at what the rumour mill has to say about Manchester United today.

Manchester United fans have urged the club to bring Dutch forward Memphis Depay back to Old Trafford this summer. The Dutchman put up an enthralling performance as Lyon ended PSG's unbeaten run, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer watching the game live at Parc Des Princes.

The 23-year-old left Old Trafford to join Lyon in 2015 and has drastically improved into one of the best left forwards in the world as of late.

Signing a defender remains a top priority that was not attended to this winter. However, United are far from ignoring the issue when the summer transfer window commences.

The Red Devils, according to Don Balon, are said to be weighing a move for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro. The fee paid for the Brazilian would also enable the Old Lady to move for Marcelo, Cristiano Ronaldo's Real Madrid teammate.

However, the move still seems to be uncertain knowing how Luke Shaw has progressed in the left-back role.

#3 Manchester United's £200m transfer kitty for summer

If reports from The Sun are to be believed, Manchester United will be handing the new permanent manager a war chest of £200m to buy reinforcements in the summer. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have an important say in the transfers, irrespective of whether his stay gets extended or not.

The Norwegian has turned the fortunes at Old Trafford, with the club having won 9 out of the first 10 games with him in charge. He has strengthened his claim to the permanent role amidst speculations linking Mauricio Pochettino for that job, but fans will have to wait until summer to know the final verdict as to who lands the role.

When asked about transfers, Solskjaer said,

"I’ve got to know the players' potential, how far they are from that and how they can build or rebuild — and put my views into the club. How we want to look in a year or two, what kind of players we need and want."
"It is about what kind of personality to look for. It’s about finding players with the Man United identity and DNA.”
"The club will always get my advice if they ask me. That’s quite natural. Whoever is in charge and involved most with the players."
