Schmeichel did not have a great season with Leicester but has always been in great form for the national team as the Danes conceded just 8 goals in their 10 matches during their World Cup Qualifiers campaign.
He has kept clean sheets in Denmark's last 3 friendlies in the run-up to the World Cup. The partnership of Chelsea's Andreas Christensen and Sevilla's Simon Kjær in the centre of defence is working great as a security blanket for Schmeichel.
