The Lyon captain, Nabil Fekir was linked heavily with Liverpool during the last summer, however, his move to Liverpool was dramatically broken down in the last moments as the Reds hesitated to sign the player after conducting his medical tests prior to his potential move to Anfield.

Known for his speed, dribbling and technical abilities, Fekir made his debut in 2013 and became a first-team regular within a year. He scored 13 goals in his second season in the Ligue 1 and was awarded the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Season award. He was also a part of the Ligue 1 Team of the Season in the 2014-2015 season.

He struggled with injuries in the 2015-2016 season and was able to make only nine appearances in the league. He returned to full fitness in the 2016-2017 season and played a vital role in Lyon's fourth-place finish.

Nabil Fekir is also an integral part of France's national team set-up and was a part of France's FIFA World Cup 2018 winning squad. He played 18 times for his national team so far, scoring two goals.
