Some Chelsea fans might strongly be against Tiémoué Bakayoko returning to the club in the summer after his disastrous first season at the club. But after a very strong loan period at AC Milan, the defensive midfielder could be just what the club needs.
Costing Chelsea £40 million initially, Bakayoko has yet to prove his worth to the club. He was clearly struggling to adapt to the English game, which led the Blues to send him out on loan.
But whilst in Italy, Bakayoko has refound the form that made him appealing to Chelsea in the first place. In fact, it was to the point where Milan fans did not want him to leave. With Ruben Loftus-Cheek set to miss the first half of the season through injury, N'Golo Kante is sure to find himself in a more box-to-box role once again, leaving a gaping hole defensivley.
This is where Bakayoko could comfortably slot in. The midfielder recently spoke with media in France where he claimed his intention is to fight for his spot at Chelsea, so perhaps this season he will finally live up to his hefty price tag.
