With Álvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud struggling to score goals on a regular basis this season, Chelsea need a new centre-forward to lead their attacking frontline. RB Leipzig's Timo Werner is among the world's best young strikers at the moment and would represent the perfect player to take their attacking options to the next level.

Quick, hard-working and technically impressive, Werner has earned a lot of invaluable experience playing at the top level - with already 23 international caps for Germany's senior side to date. He proved a pivotal part in their FIFA Confederations Cup triumph in 2017, while also being part of their 23-man squad for last summer's World Cup in Russia.

Ultimately the team struggled and he played his part, though the tournament was one where form and cohesion essentially went out of the window for Joachim Low's men - who were surprisingly knocked out in the group stages.

The 22-year-old was Leipzig's top goalscorer across all competitions last term and also found himself a part of the UEFA Europa League Squad of the Season in 2017/18. He has continued his impressive form this term too, with 11 goals and two assists in 17 Bundesliga appearances this campaign.

The young German has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent months, though given his talent and world-class potential, it's clear the Blues will need to make a substantial offer to see Werner join them.
