#2. Maximiliano Gómez
The 23-year-old compatriot of Luis Suárez has been on the Barcelona radar since his days at Celta Vigo. He was rumoured to join Barcelona last summer itself but chose Valencia in search of more playing time. Maxi Gómez is quite different in terms of play to Suárez. He has that hard edge, bullishness and physical style of play which does not make any opposition defenders happy.
He is more of the static kind of striker and participates a lot less in build-up play, but his presence in front of defenders gives his teammates space to operate with the ball as he keeps the opposition busy with his presence. He's good with both feet and loves to use his head more often than one would expect. He's not the tallest of strikers but he can jump pretty well and reach the ball ahead of opposition markers. It is rumoured that he has staggering €140 million clause in his contract at Mestalla but it is expected that Valencia will negotiate should Barcelona show interest in signing their player.
