Chelsea have had a mixed fortune since appointing Maurizio Sarri as their coach at the beginning of the season. They have 47 points from 22 matches in the Premier League and are at the 4th position in the league table. However, Manchester United have won 5 consecutive league matches and now trail Chelsea only by 6 points.

Moreover, there are Arsenal, who have 41 points from 22 matches and are at the 5th position. Therefore, Chelsea might not find it easy to finish inside the top 4. So they might think of making some changed in their squad for the next season. They have already sold veteran midfielder Cesc Fabregas to Monaco.

Here, we would now take a look at the 3 more players they should sell in the near future.

#3 Gary Cahill

Cahill is a 33-year-old central defender and former England international, who has been playing for Chelsea since 2012, and has been on top of every chelsea transfer news gossip for quite some time now. He has already appeared in 289 matches for Chelsea and scored 25 goals. However, he has found it extremely difficult to make it to the playing XI this season and as a result, played in only 7 matches this season.

Chelsea already have Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz as regular center-backs and right-back Cezar Azpilicueta can also play as a central defender. On the bench is Andreas Christensen, who is more than just reliable.

Therefore, the ageing Cahill has fallen out of favor with the team management and might find it very difficult to make a come back to the team.

Chelsea might actually think of making some new purchases in the next season as the rumors around EPL transfer news have suggested, which might also include a defender or two. Therefore, they might also want to lighten their squad by selling a few players. It would not come as a surprise if Cahill is one of them, as he is nearing the end of his career at the top level.

#2 Victor Moses

Moses rose to prominence while playing as a right wing-back and contributing significantly to Chelsea’s league title triumph in 2016-17 under Antonio Conte. However, with Chelsea playing 2 center backs instead of 3 and Azpilicueta at right-back, Moses has found it difficult to break into the side.

Moses is a very strong and fast player with good ball skills and can be an asset to any team. Moreover, he is 28-years-old only and still has quite a few seasons left in him at the top level. He has scored 18 goals in 128 matches for Chelsea and should not find any difficulty in finding another club.

It seems that Chelsea are not very interested in renewing his contract and therefore, might very well sell him in the future. They might go for a younger full-back in the next season and therefore, Moses might not feature in their scheme of things.

#1 Pedro Rodriguez

Pedro has had a distinguished career and won every possible title with Barcelona, his previous club. He has won the Premier League title with Chelsea too and scored 35 goals in 159 matches for them. However, football is a young man’s game and Pedro is already 31. Therefore, he might find it difficult to prolong his career at Chelsea.

Chelsea are not having too many options in their attack and might even have to deal with Eden Hazard’s departure in future. Therefore, they might want to have a new-look attack in the next season and offload Pedro to some other club.

Pedro is a very skillful player with good passing and dribbling abilities, but has lost some speed with age and might not have too many years left at the top tier.

Therefore, Chelsea might very well think of selling him to another club and accommodate a younger attacking player in their squad.
