It appears the marriage between Mauro Icardi and Inter Milan is nearing a divorce. Since being stripped of the captain's armband on February 13, Icardi has still not played for Inter, and it's likely he'll never play again for them.

The Argentine striker has scored 120 goals in Serie A, earning the armband at the age of 22, but he has shown no signs of renewing his contract. His current deal lasts until 2021.
Juventus have previously registered interest in the striker, and they previously had a deal for him, but Icardi rejected it, wanting to stay at Inter. Now, though, it looks like Icardi is keen to leave the San Siro, and Real Madrid must beat Juventus in the chase for the striker.
While Icardi has been high-maintenance off the pitch, he's still a prolific goalscorer, and Real Madrid desperately lack a goalscorer with Cristiano Ronaldo gone. With Karim Benzema dropping back and creating outside the box, and with Icardi waiting inside the box, seeking to prey on unsuspecting defenders, this could be a match made in heaven, one that could give Madrid the attacking punch they have so desperately lacked.
