3 players who could break Neymar’s world record transfer fee in the future

Football is becoming more like a business these days, and the money involved in it is absolutely insane. Foreign investments, high advertising fees, and hefty ticket prices help clubs generate more income, subsequently, giving them more money to spend in the transfer market.

Paris Saint-Germain signed Neymar Jr from Barcelona for £200 million in 2017, making him the most expensive footballer of all time. It was completely unthinkable to spend such an amount of money in the transfer market about five years back, however, with the inflation as high as it is now, it won't be safe to say that Neymar's record is going to stay for long.

Right on this note, here are three players who are likely to break Neymar's world record transfer fee in the near future.

#3 Mohamed Salah

The Egyptian is in a rich vein of form since joining Liverpool from Roma in the summer transfer window of 2017, and no-one ever predicted the success he is enjoying at Anfield.

Mohamed Salah set the record of scoring the most number of goals (32 goals) in a 38 game Premier League season in 2017-18, and won the PFA Player of the Season accolade for his performances.

He helped Liverpool reach the finals of the Champions League last campaign, and was voted the second best forward of the tournament. Salah is currently the highest scoring Egyptian in the Premier League, and is also the fastest Liverpool player to score 50 goals in all competitions.

The former Chelsea man has continued his remarkable form this campaign as well, and is currently the joint-leading goalscorer in the Premier League. The Reds are currently the favourites to win the league for the first time since 1990, and Salah's form will be key to their success.

The 26-year-old was linked with a move to Real Madrid and Barcelona in the past, and the Reds are likely to demand a fee in the region of £250 million if they decide to sell their star in the future.

#2 Harry Kane

Arguably the best striker in the world

This Englishman is currently one of the best strikers in the world, and is on course to becoming one of the greatest ever.

The Tottenham striker, Harry Kane, is scoring goals for fun, and was the Premier League Golden Boot winner for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. He was in the running for the Golden Boot last season as well, but injuries during the concluding weeks of the campaign saw him losing to Mohamed Salah.

The England international was the top goal-scorer during the FIFA World Cup 2018, and was also included in the FIFPro World XI: Second Team for his impressive performances throughout 2018.

He is currently the joint top goalscorer in the Premier League, and will be looking forward to winning the award for the third time in four years.

The 25-year-old was linked with a move to Real Madrid in the last few weeks, and Spurs were reportedly demanding a transfer fee of £350 million, which would make him the most expensive footballer ever.

#1 Kylian Mbappe

It is hard to believe that Kylian Mbappe is just 20 years of age, as the French international has achieved great heights at such a young age. He is considered to be one of the biggest talents in football.

Mbappe started his professional career with AS Monaco in 2015, and helped Les Monégasques win the Ligue 1 title during the 2016-17 season. AS Monaco also reached the semi-finals of the Champions League during the same season, and Mbappe played a vital role in the team, scoring 6 goals in their European campaign.

The French international left Monaco to join PSG on loan in the summer of 2017 (with a deal in place to sign him permanently in 2018) and has been in brilliant form since then. He won a domestic treble during his first season with the Paris based club, and was awarded the UNPF Ligue 1 Young Player of the Season 2017-18 accolade for his performances.

The 20-year-old also won the FIFA World Cup 2018 with France, and was among the best players at the tournament. He won the FIFA World Cup Best Young Player: 2018 award, and was also part of the FIFA World Cup Dream Team: 2018.

PSG spent a whopping £166 million to sign Mbappe permanently from AS Monaco in 2018, and given his age and talent, it is safe to say that the transfer fee for his next move is going to exceed what PSG paid for Neymar.
