Signed in the January transfer window last year, Gabriel Jesus put the records straight by becoming the first Manchester City player to both, score and assist in his first start, and gave a glimpse of his prodigious scoring prowess when he finished the campaign with seven goals and four assists in 11 games.

Now in his first full season with the Skyblues, he did the unthinkable by displacing Aguero from the starting XI during the initial few games and the Brazilian subsequently repaid the manager's faith with a string of talismanic shows in the final third. His returns for the current season stands at 10 goals and three assists.

Whilst those are impressive figures by all accounts, Jesus could've racked up greater numbers had it not been for the ligament injury that kept him out of action for eight games between January and February; the period which also saw Aguero being reinstated as the first choice striker. But it does little to dwarf the precocious talent that he is, as Jesus has hit the full straps again upon returning from injury.
