3 players who should not have been in Brazil's 23-man World Cup squad

Brazil have announced their 23-man World Cup squad and it's full of surprises. So many big names have missed out while a few have been selected to everyone's shock.

Tite has picked a team that is capable of winning the World Cup for sure, but some of the picks are just not understandable. There are better players who are desperate to wear that Brazil jersey but the coach has ignored them!

Here are 3 players who should have made it to Brazil's World Cup squad:

#3 Pedro Geromel

Independiente v Gremio - Conmebol Recopa Sudamericana 2018
Geromel's addition was unnecessary

Pedro Geromel is undoubtedly one of the best defenders in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. The 32-year-old is strong and puts his life on the line while defending in tough situations.

However, he is only in the squad as a back-up for Marquinhos, Thiago Silva and Miranda. The centre-back options are good enough and in case of an injury, Fernandinho or Casemiro could have chipped in.

Alex Sandro should have been the one taking his place in the squad. The Juve man has been brilliant this season and deserved to be at the World Cup.

#2 Danilo

Manchester City v AFC Bournemouth - Premier League
Danilo has not been a shell of his former FC Porto self these days

If Danilo was playing like he did during his FC Porto days, no one would have an issue but he is a completely different defender now. He is not that sharp and the only quality he possesses right now is his pace.

He lost his confidence at Real Madrid and unfortunately, his injuries have not helped him do that well at Manchester City. He is now set to be Brazil's right-back choice at the World Cup along with Fagner.

Fabinho would have been a brilliant choice but Tite has surprisingly decided to leave him out. The AS Monaco star has had a good season this term.

#1 Taison

Taison is the most surprising pick made by Tite. The Shakhtar Donetsk right winger is set to play as a back up to Coutinho and Willian at the World Cup this summer.

The winger has not done a lot this season and has had a fairish season in Ukraine. He has scored twice and assisted 7 goals in his 24 matches in the league and Champions League.

Meanwhile, Felipe Anderson has had a brilliant season at Lazio. The Serie A star has 7 goals and 10 assists for the Italian side this season.
